Treats for Troops – Get Rid of That Candy!

Feeling a little run-down after devouring all your children’s Halloween candy this week? I should know better as into fitness and health as I am, but I even ate a few (ahem, handfuls) of candy bars. They were miniature though so it doesn’t really count!

However, if you are feeling like the constant temptation of overflowing candy in your home is a bit much for you, then consider donating your extras to our troops!

screen-shot-2016-11-02-at-9-45-32-amI want to make it as easy as possible for you to donate, so if you are interested simply bag up your candy, set it out on your front porch, and text me your address (512.516.4509).

I’ll swing by and pick it up and bring it to the donation center so all those yummy goodies can be sent to those who couldn’t be home for Halloween this year.

The deadline for donating your sweets is this Friday the 4th, so please text me your address today or tomorrow so I have time to run by and donate it before time’s up!

Hope to hear from you!

Lots of love,

Top 5 Round Rock Parks

Round Rock is home to 106,000 people with more coming in each and every week. With it’s great price range per square foot on nice, new to newer homes plus all the amenities, it’s easy to see why this city attracts so many families.

When you are in the process of moving your family, one of the first things buyers want in a prospective new home is a close proximity to good parks. Luckily no matter where you are hoping to land within the city of Round Rock, there is a great park just around the corner!

Take a look at the following list of the Top 5 Round Rock Parks and see for yourself:

TOP 5 ROUND ROCK PARKS

  1. Old Settler’s Park – 3300 Palm Valley Road

This 1.85 acre leash-free space is perfect for your pooch to get some sunshine while socializing. The park features different areas for large breeds and small breeds, as well as agility elements and lots of room to just run.

3. Play For All Abilities – 151 North AW Grimes Blvd

screen-shot-2016-10-31-at-3-57-24-pmAnother large gem of a park that is currently undergoing a much anticipated expansion, this park features different pods dedicated to helping children develop specific skills, with handicap accessible plays capes and swings.

One of my boys’ favorite sections of this park is the little town with working street lights. They love to bring their bikes, scooters, and skateboards and ride on the streets!

4. Downtown Plaza

The Prete Plaza in downtown Round Rock is especially fun on those hot Texas Summer days! Featuring a large splash pad and pavilion rentals, it makes seeing downtown especially cool.

5. Shaylah Dame Skate Park – 1600 Gattis School Road

screen-shot-2016-10-31-at-3-57-50-pmYet another favorite of my boys is the Shaylah Dame Skate Park on Gattis School Road. While mothers’ nerves may not, aspiring boarders will love this park, with 14,000 square feet of riding space including a huge bowl. As with all parks, remember to keep it safe and wear protective riding gear!

Hope to see you around at one of these top Round Rock Parks!

Diamond Oaks: A New Round Rock Community

Round Rock has exploded with new growth in 2016 and will only continue for several more years to come. In fact, Round Rock was ranked the 9th fasted growing city in 2016 by Zippia!

With that growth has come lots of new restaurants, activities, and of course, new homes!

We have several new home communities still expanding; including Teravista, Sienna, and Paloma Lake. Now we can add a brand new one to the list: Diamond Oaks.

Ground has just recently been broken in this soon-to-be community located just next to the Dell Diamond and Old Settler’s Park, so the model home will not be ready until next year. But prospective buyers can still get a feel for if this new community will be a good fit for them by taking a look at their starting prices, floor plans, and unique selling points.

If luxury-style homes at a great price sounds just up your alley, then they may just be a good fit:

“Our standard specifications for new homes include many upgraded luxury features including a gourmet kitchen with 42″ maple cabinets standard, 10 feet ceilings and 8 feet doors with crown molding standard, and energy-saving features like tankless water heaters and solar-ready conduits.”

More into saving money and being good to the environment? Then you will like that these homes are solar-ready, not to mention all of these too:

“Our energy efficient features include Low E double-paned vinyl windows, a radiant barrier, blown insulation, an insulated garage door, weather-sensing irrigation, and ENERGY STAR® rated appliances.”

While we do have lots of new home options here in Round Rock, I think we can all agree that welcoming Diamond Oaks to that list will be easy!

Want help determining which new home community is right for you? Give me a call and we can go over all your options together to find you the perfect match!

Game Room Design: What’s Your Dream Game Room?

Pool Table? Full Bar? Arcade and Video Game Mega-Station?

game-room

Game rooms are a popular addition in newly built homes here in Austin. I toured a beautiful one today in Vizcaya, a new sub-division being developed in between Round Rock and Georgetown. This sub-division is split into 2 sections, one a neighborhood for all ages, and the other a 55+ community with it’s own separate amenities.

screen-shot-2016-09-28-at-2-30-48-pm

Vizcaya has a range of home floor plans, both 1 and 2 stories, starting in the mid 200s, all with wonderful master suites. Located in Round Rock, one of the fastest growing areas in Austin.

“You’ll also be living in one of the best-managed, safest cities in America. Round Rock is the winner of the prestigious Comprehensive Planning Award and a #CMA Savvy Award for Community Visioning.”

One of the things I love most about checking out all of these new construction communities, is getting design ideas from touring the model homes! Here’s a link to my Facebook page where I posted a video I took while checking out their largest floor plan, over 3700 square feet, which included a media room, game room, office, and a separate sitting room in the master suite.

In their game room, they included a pool table and a nice wine bar. If you had your dream game room space, what would you put in it?
